Oceania Sprint Championships & Continental Cup

Professional triathletes will tackle the challenging waters of Ahuriri beach, before biking the fast, flat Napier coast, finishing triumphantly running down the blue carpet to cross the finish line.

We are honored to welcome top athletes to participate in this international event. Hosted by friendly locals who love the sport, we know you’ll feel at home. 

Want to be part of the action? Spectators are encouraged to join us at Ahuriri to enjoy the Elite racing for free, or watch the full event through live streaming (link coming soon). 

The Napier Triathlon Festival will give athletes at all levels the chance to showcase their talent, from New Zealand’s best competing in the Elite Sprint Distance event, to the young and skilled triathletes in the Sprint Championships and Napier Tri-er.  

We encourage you to share your enthusiasm, wisdom and support with the next generation of promising triathletes.

The closest international airport is Auckland or Wellington International Airports. From Auckland or Wellington, it is then a short domestic flight to the Napier Airport.

50m Olympic Pool $10 for a casual visit to be paid by each swimmer, or a concession card for 10 sessions for $90.

The Napier Aquatic Centre in Maadi Avenue, Onekawa in Napier 

The entry to the pool is $6.00 to be paid by each swimmer or a concession card for 10 sessions for $50.50.    The best times (quietest times) to have lane swimming are between 8am-3:30pm

Bike and Run Training 

Napier and Hastings are the major city of the Hawkes Bay Region on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. The district has a population of 187,900.  Of this 56,787 people live in Napier and 61,696 live in Hastings.  

As with any training on open roads please ensure you obey NZ Road Rules.  If you are riding the course ensure that you obey all signs, DO NOT ride through stop signs and give way signs at pace.  There are a lot of heavy vehicles in this area and they cannot stop in a hurry.
